Project 'eCar'

One of the things I've embarked on is to bring the electric car into Singapore. Welcome to Project eCar. The eCar is a 2-door 4-seater full-electric car that's designed for city driving. It has a maximum speed of 60kph and can cover about 80km per charge. Its design came from a US/India joint venture which spinned off Reva India, the company that makes the car right now. The Reva-i is the most successful electric car in the UK today, marketed by GoinGreen under the name G-Wiz.

I thought I would call the Reva (or G-Wiz) "eCar" in Singapore. The first thing to do is to push through the importation requirements with LTA. I am purchasing this on a personal basis for now. At this writing, I have the required technical specifications to start working with LTA. My goal is to ride the eCar down Orchard Road on 29 April 2007!

Wilson (ECO-Singapore) has also kindly offer me a parking lot and charging station (standard 13amp plug) right outisde their office at the QBuzz. I bet he wants his ECO-SG logo on the car, which I don't mind, but that does mean we'll have to get AFFECT's on too, haha!
